About Us

The Family Support Organization (FSO) is made up of parents and caregivers who share many of your experiences raising a child with behavioral and/or emotional challenges.

As a peer to peer support organization we assist you in seeking out necessary services and help navigate the complex public systems available to support you and your children.

Currently, there are fourteen Family Support Organizations covering all 21 counties in New Jersey.
Family Support Organizations employ family members and recruit volunteer families.

The FSO warm line provides information and referrals to professionals and families in the community.
We educate families how to advocate in their child’s and family’s best interest.

We monitor the System of Care for Family Involvement, Family “Friendliness” and Family Focus. We advocate for System Change when necessary at the local and state level.

Mission Statement

The FSO of Morris and Sussex Counties is devoted to the needs of

families whose children have emotional and behavioral challenges.
Families will receive peer support, information and referral services, education and advocacy within a compassionate and culturally sensitive environment.
